Kevin Albrecht
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Kevin Albrecht founded iSport Media and Management in May 2009.
Prior to iSport, Albrecht was President and CEO of Insight Sports a leading Canadian sports broadcaster and marketing company. He also enjoyed a successful 16-year career at IMG where he oversaw a variety of roles, including the Head of Global Business Development as well as Managing Director of IMG Canada and a member of the IMG global digital media team.
Albrecht was named by the Globe and Mail as one of the top three most influential people in Canadian sports.
Throughout his career in the industry, Albrecht has helped manage the careers of superstar athletes such as Wayne Gretzky, Mike Weir and Kurt Browning. He has also developed several event properties such as Stars On Ice and golf’s Skins Game into powerful Canadian sports brands.
Albrecht began his sports management career as a coaching development consultant with the Government of Ontario before managing the Canadian Alpine Ski Team for four years.
Along with his partner, Michael Barnett, Albrecht formed the management team at CorpSport International and the two grew the company into the leading athlete representation firm in Canada before being acquired by IMG in 1990.
Albrecht is also a founding board member of Right To Play, an athlete-driven international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play as a tool for the development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world.
Judy Sims
CanSport LIVE – Chief Operating Officer
Judy Sims is the COO of the CanSport LIVE digital network where she is responsible for the development and implementation of the network’s strategic plan.
Prior to this role, Judy was Vice President, Digital Media at the Toronto Star Media Group where she was responsible for the overall strategic direction and profitability of the digital media division. In addition to managing Thestar.com and Toronto.com, she created and launched Wheels.ca, Parentcentral.ca, Yourhome.ca and Healthzone.ca.
In her career, Judy has provided consultative services to digital media start-ups, re-starts and mainstream media companies from around the world. Services included developing strategies for mobile, social media, digital editorial, revenue development, implementation planning, product visioning, market analyses and the creation of investor/VC presentations.
Before working in the online world, Judy spent over 10 years in the print media industry. In 2005, as the Director, New Ventures and Innovation for the Toronto Star, Judy launched and led “Weekly Scoop”, Canada’s first weekly newsstand celebrity magazine. Before that, as the Market Development Director she and her team developed business and marketing plans for a variety of print products across the Toronto Star and the Star Media Group.
Matt Kelly
Digital Video Producer
Matt joined iSport Media in June 2009 as the Video Producer for all of iSport’s online properties. He works closely with the sales team at iSport and their outside partners to develop custom video strategies for their brands and properties.
Prior to iSport, Matt worked as a series producer in Television at Insight Sports where he shot and produced the first season of Hookin’ Up with Mariko Izumi for the World Fishing Network. At Insight Sports, Matt managed the online video production of various properties including Wayne Gretzky’s website: Gretzky.com since it re-launched in 2007.
In his ten plus years in the industry, Matt has worked with many of the top broadcast companies in Canada including CTV, CBC and Sun Media. He received his Broadcast Television diploma from Seneca College in 2003 and has been aggressively developing online video content ever since.
